Online TLDS 2024
The Online Transition Learning and Development Statement (Online TLDS) tool reopened on Monday July 15th, 2024.
If you are a teacher who will be using the Online TLDS for the first time, our 15-minute video will get you started. View the video from our Online TLDS information and support page here: https://kindergarten.vic.gov.au/tlds/#videos
For educators who made use of the Online TLDS previously, a review of our video should be enough to get you back up-to-speed as there are no big changes to report.

Online TLDS training webinars are now available
The Online Transition Learning and Development Statement (Online TLDS) tool reopened on Monday July 12th 2021. To assist early childhood educators we have updated our Online TLDS demonstration video and are offering webinars of our course Online TLDS Training – 901.
The training is available to both community kindergartens and long day care services throughout Victoria.
This course is for teachers who have not previously used the Online TLDS and provides an introduction. If you are familair with the Online TLDS, or if you are confident with online platforms our 15min demonstration video is more appropriate along with the online tips, user guides and the helpdesk.

Before you leave for the school break
Just before you leave for the school break, it is helpful to:
- Shut down your computer
- Switch off the modem
- Switch off the power and unplug at the wall socket
- Add a post it note reminder to your computer screen stating – turn the modem and power back on
Following these steps can stop a possible power surge or damage to your computer. It also saves energy.

The username is the full email address.

Practical IT Skills – 602 is a basic introduction to troubleshooting a computer and performing practical IT tasks in a small office when you don’t have a technician nearby. The course is designed to support you in learning a simple problem solving approach to modern computing devices.

Tip – How to set Chrome spell check to English (Australia)
When you are composing text directly into a web application such as Online TLDS, you will need to rely on the spell check built into your browser. To improve your experience, you can set the spell check to English (Australia)
TLDS – Online TLDS platform is NOT a record keeping tool
Essentially each service will have your own policy regarding retention of documents for a child’s record. DET has outlined the legislative requirements (Page 5 of Guide to Information sharing ), but services do have freedom within that legislation to make your own policies regarding child assessments.
DET has advised that the Online TLDS should not be used as a record keeping tool, and not relied on to meet kindergartens’ document retention obligations – so a copy of the completed TLDS should be maintained as per each kindergarten’s service policy.

Email System Upgrade Notification – Wednesday 1st July, 8am.
Our technicians are performing a scheduled server upgrade on Wednesday 1st July, starting at 8am.
While we do not anticipate any interruption in services, there may be brief delays to emails during this time.
This upgrade is designed to increase the security and reliability of email systems.

Cyber security threat
KITP team is aware of a large scale spear phishing attack that is currently being targeted at various Government sectors and organisations in Australia.
Spear phishing is a scam that uses emails to try and capture details from you, and/or load your computer with malware. These emails are designed to look like they come from a trusted source such as a bank or a large Government department but are actually fake.
The KITP systems have not been compromised and all of our networks and systems are up to date and fully patched.
If you receive any email that you are unsure of:
• Do not click on any link or attachment within that email.
• Do not reply to that email.
• Do not forward that email.
• Delete the email immediately.
Please note that opening an email will not cause an issue, it’s what you do after that which is why we have these rules.

TLDS login credential email sent on 15/05/2020
You may have received a notification from LinkIT on Friday 15 May advising of your new password for the Online TLDS. This email was sent out in error. Please disregard and delete this email.
A new password will be sent to all EC services in July 2020 when the platform is scheduled to reopen.
