eSafety Early Years professional learning modules

Access a series of free online professional learning modules from the eSafety Early Years program.

Developed by the e-Safety Commissioner and Early Childhood Australia the modules are available through Early Childhood Australia’s Learning Hub.

Modules on safely exploring, creating, working and sharing with technology are covered in a series of one-hour sessions.

For Directors and Managers, a two-hour module covers creating a safe online environment.

Department of Education and Training has released the May 2023 edition of the Early Childhood Update e-newsletter.

This edition focuses on celebrating and supporting the sector with articles on coaching for returning educators, funding opportunities, a new Koorie Kids Shine video and the upcoming Education Week 2023.

Tip – Scam emails targeting kindergartens

Scammers are targeting kindergartens with fake messages with malicious attachments. Please treat all email received from addresses claiming to be kindergartens with the same level of caution as other email.

Our system admin has identified malicious email that looks like it is from another kindergarten. Double check the sender information of all email you receive, even if you are already in correspondence.

Tip – Bluekeep: Windows RDP Vulnerability

What is Bluekeep?

Microsoft has advised users that there is a vulnerability within its Remote Desktop Services. Remote Desktop Services allow others to access your computer without physically being at the machine. Cyber attackers can connect to targeted computers and send specially crafted commands. This can happen without you allowing them to do so.

Microsoft Windows users must install a ‘patch’ to fix this vulnerability. If you are using one of the above Windows operating systems, please click the relevant link below to install the patch.

What is a Phishing Scam?

Phishing scams are attempts by scammers to trick you into giving out personal information such as your bank account numbers, passwords and credit card numbers. This is usually done by including a link that will take you to a legitimate looking company’s website to fill in your sensitive information.
